EVENT DESCRIPTION
ABOUT THIS WORKOUT
Length of wkos: 1 hr
Description: Stay motivated this winter & build fitness for the spring cycling season with a 12 week winter training series. Workouts are designed to build functional threshold power (FTP), VO2max & anaerobic capacity.
Ride Leader/Coordinator:
Tania Gregory, Trek Women’s Ambassador
Tania is a mountain biker, triathlete and cyclocross racer whose passion is getting others into cycling. She is going into her fourth year as a Trek Women’s Advocate and with the support of Colonial Bicycle Company she hosts events, rides and clinics for women in Maine and NH.
Coaches:
Robin Farina, Head Coach & Owner RoFA Endurance
Robin began her cycling career over 17 years ago after graduating from the University of Tennessee with a degree in Sports Management. She has raced on several professional teams throughout her career and is the former 2011 USA National Road Race Champion and a 2012 Olympic long team member. In 2015 she retired from professional road racing. At that time she started racing in the gravel world and took on a management role directing The Happy Tooth Pro Cycling Team. Presently, she has transformed her career into full-time endurance coaching with an emphasis on providing the best one-on-one coaching. Robin currently resides in Nevada City, CA.
Jen Murphy, Endurance Performance Coach, RoFA Endurance
Jen is a New England native and Cyclocross racer. She is no stranger to riding in bad weather, whether that be in a cross race, Spring Classic gravel events, or racing her fat bike up the Mt. Washington Auto Road. However, she realizes it is impractical to train outside every day during the long, cold winter and has used Zwift as a valuable training tool to prep for the spring riding season. Jen is on the steering committee for She Rides Seacoast - a NH nonprofit which encourages and empowers women to ride bicycles. She has recently started coaching for RoFA Endurance and is passionate about helping others achieve & exceed their goals. Jen currently resides in Nottingham, NH.
ABOUT GROUP WORKOUTS
Zwifters line up in the starting area just like a normal event and once the event starts, workout mode begins. Everyone stays together regardless of power output. That's right, if you're outputting 100W and another Zwifter is outputting 400W you will stay in exactly the same position relative to each other. Only if you stop pedaling and fall 6 meters behind the group will the rubber-banding stop.
HELPFUL HINT
We highly recommend doing one of the FTP tests as the estimated FTP can be inaccurate and make the difficulty level of the workouts too high for your current fitness level.
