EVENT DESCRIPTION
ABOUT SLOWTWITCH INDOORS
Every Tuesday at 4pm PST, Slowtwitch.com will bring you a triathlon-focused workout designed and led by a guest 'coach.' We will include sessions from pro athletes and coaches, as well as the Slowman himself, Dan Empfield.
For this third edition, the workout will be led by American Ironman Record Holder and multi-time Ironman winner and Kona top-10 finisher Linsey Corbin.
Linsey Corbin (b.1981) is a professional triathlete who lives and trains in her hometown of Bend, Oregon. She is a five-time Ironman Champion and has achieved top American honors at both Ironman and 70.3 Ironman World Championship events. In the summer of 2014, Linsey set a new American Ironman record and clocked the 5th fastest time in the history of the sport. Her vision is to transcend the boundaries of her sport and represent the importance of a sound mind, body, and diet in achieving dreams. Join Linsey as she embarks on her 11th season as a professional triathlete.
The workouts are about 60 minutes long and designed to add variety and interest to your weekly training schedule over the Winter.
ABOUT THIS WORKOUT
4x building efforts with 30sec openers
4x 8min SST efforts @ 90rpm, 80rpm, 70rpm, 60rpm with 2min recovery
4x 30sec openers with descending efforts to end
ABOUT GROUP WORKOUTS
Zwifters line up in the starting area just like a normal event and once the event starts, workout mode begins. Everyone stays together regardless of power output. That's right, if you're outputting 100W and another Zwifter is outputting 400W you will stay in exactly the same position relative to each other. Only if you stop pedaling and fall 6 meters behind the group will the rubber-banding stop.
HELPFUL HINT
We highly recommend doing one of the FTP tests as the estimated FTP can be inaccurate and make the difficulty level of the workouts too high for your current fitness level.
