EVENT DESCRIPTION
IMPORTANT: please use www.time.isOpens a new window to make sure you start at the correct time. NOBODY should be starting when the gate opens. Before the countdown reaches zero, stop pedaling and wait for your group’s start time.
This is a handicap group chase but not strictly a race, it's just for fun. Groups of riders will set off at timed intervals, the quickest going last; the aim is for a group to catch the one in front and/or stay away from the group behind them in hot pursuit. The key to success is working together, as no lone rider should be capable by themselves of catching the group ahead.
Groups are based on the time to complete the following segment: www.strava.com/segments/13815756Opens a new window or a single lap of the London Classique course - please choose the group that best suits your ability and start at the correct time, where "hh" is the hour of the event start:
hh:01 - Hares: 59 minutes or 8:30 per lap
hh:04 - Hounds 1: 56 minutes or 8:00 per lap
hh:06 - Hounds 2: 54 minutes or 7:45 per lap
hh:08 - Hounds 3: 52 minutes or 7:30 per lap
If you are dropped from your group, try to recover and finish the remaining distance. If you are consistently able to lead or are being dropped by your group week after week, you should re-evaluate in which group you belong and consider going into a faster or slower group next time.
