EVENT DESCRIPTION
SMITE (Saturday Morning Interval Training Exercise) is a 60 min no-drop group ride spiked by a rotating mix of short to long Strava segments. Have a day job? Finding it hard to train more than 6 hours per week? Interval training is a proven format for dynamic strength gains over short periods of time. FORMAT - This is only NO-DROP ride between intervals. Each Interval is a race however, and we'll have 4-5 per ride. - Everyone will be asked to maintain a pace of ~30 km/hr in between intervals. The ride leader will call out the - Strava segments during the event as you approach them. - Intervals will add up to 20-30% of the overall ride each week. - Each interval is your opportunity to hammer it. Either go for glory on your own, or try and work with a group to conserve your strength and endurance. - Once at the end of the interval, please wait to recollect the rest of the group. - The course Figure 8 is used for Watopia over 1 lap, and the course London Loop is used on the London Loop for 2 laps. LEADERBOARD on Strava (https://www.strava.com/clubs/smiteOpens a new window) - Please join the SMITE club in Strava to be eligible for the Segment Podium afterwards. It's the only way to reliably find the right data for this event. - A leaderboard will be maintained to keep track of all the points (3 pts for 1st, 2 pts for 2nd, and 1 pt for 3rd). SOCIAL - All of the segments will be published weekly in the Strava Club Discussions and on Facebook. - Join us on Teamspeak @ ts21.gameservers.com:9149, channel Zwift Public 1 - Twitch channel coverage is coming soon
