VOL-KEIRIN - TUES or THURS 6.00pm
RIDE LEADER: Col ‘The Badger’ Brown
DISTANCE: 3 Laps
W/KG: 2.0-15.0
RACE NOTES:
1. You are required to use the (SAS) tag or your Race Team + Category or Grade (A.B,C,D,E,F,G or Pies) in your title if you wish to be in the Final Results on Zwiftpower. ie: Col Brown (SAS) A
2. If you are ahead of the Beacon at the photo 'RACE START' this will result in an Automatic DQ.
3. Photo’s are taken at the Start/Finish banner every Lap in the Vol-Keirin Race, if you are ahead of the Beacon when the photo is taken you will receive an automatic DQ.

DESCRIPTION: ’Vol-Keirin’ - is a Japanese 'Keirin' style Race on the Volcano circuit of Watopia Island. We have 4 Laps in total… 3 paced Laps behind The Badger (Yellow Beacon) Each Lap there is a photo at the 'Start/Finish' banner, if you are ahead of the Badger (Yellow Beacon) you will receive a 1 second time penalty. On the final Lap there is a Photo Start at a mystery point on the final 4.2km Lap, the final lap can be up around 5w/kg and over 50km/h+, stick with the bunch and see if you can out sprint the rest of the SAS Crew.
'VOL-KEIRIN' title explanation...OK, so the first bits easy... VOL = Volcano...
The KEIRIN (競輪 / ケイリン?, [keiɽiɴ]) “racing wheels" is a form of motor-paced cycle racing in which track cyclists sprint for victory following a speed-controlled start behind a motorized or non-motorized pacer.
