Route: Dust in the Wind
Time: 12:00 PM ET / 9:00 AM PT / 5:00 PM GMT
Quick Stats:
52.1 km (32.4 miles) with 582m elevation
Time: 80-110 minutes depending on your power output
Difficulty rating: 27.7/100 (relatively easy)
Requires Level 6+
What to Expect: This route features lots of dirt/gravel sections, so consider using a gravel bike for speed advantage. You'll ride through Titans Grove twice, plus Fuego Flats, Ocean Boulevard, and a Mayan Jungle out-and-back.
The Ride: Start in the desert, turn left into Titans Grove (riding it southbound), descend to Ocean Boulevard, then head to the Mayan Jungle for a clockwise loop. Return back to Ocean Boulevard, head toward downtown but turn toward Fuego Flats before you get there. Cross the bridge and ride through Titans Grove again (same direction). At the end, turn left through Saddle Springs back to the desert finish.
Bottom Line: A moderate-length route with decent elevation, featuring two passes through Titans Grove and plenty of gravel/dirt riding. Good variety of terrain without major sustained climbs.
Meet Your Ride Leader: John Brown
John Brown started cycling entirely on Zwift and joined the OTE Reapers in 2023, and has since had so much fun racing and being a part of the community. He loves meeting fellow athletes and is constantly finding himself on group rides with people he's just run into! A fun cycling fact about him is that this year he challenged himself to ride the entire distance of the Tour alongside/in parallel with the riders, and he made it!
He also runs and just completed the Philadelphia Marathon in 2:50 and has tried his hand at the triathlon a few times, and hopes to eventually complete an Ironman!
Prizes:
Each fondo ride features two prize giveaways with opportunities to earn prizes throughout the event. Your leader will explain how to qualify during the ride. Prizes include things like Feed Credit and exclusive products!
