The Zwift Fondo Series is back.

First time at the fondo? Welcome! A fondo is a giant group ride, and many newcomers enjoy the ride-at-your-own-pace style of these events. Seasoned fondo riders, get ready to put your legs to work. This mega-event brings together thousands of Zwifters. Ride to set a new best time or push yourself to complete a new distance. And it’s your chance to unlock THREE exclusive kits!

RIDE SCHEDULE

Fondo weekends will take place the first weekend of each month, starting December 2, 2022, and ending in April 2023: 

December 2, 2022 - December 4, 2022
December 30, 2022 - January 1, 2023
February 3, 2023 - February 5, 2023
March 3, 2023 - March 5, 2023
March 31, 2023 - April 2, 2023 

UNLOCK THREE JERSEYS

New this year, kit unlocks are based upon completion of each distance. One for Gran fondo, one for Medio fondo, and one for Bambino fondo. You have five months to unlock all three. If you are up for the challenge ride all three distances in one month. Choose the distance for you, work your way up, or ride them all.

CHOOSE YOUR CHALLENGE

The Zwift Fondo Series includes three endurance challenges: Gran, Medio, and Bambino lengths. Choose your preferred ride based on your schedule, fitness, or your goal. This is not a race, but some will choose to ride it like one. Do what’s comfortable, and go at your own pace. If this is your first Zwift Fondo or big group ride on Zwift, welcome to the party.

Unlike other Zwift events, the A, B, and C groups don’t refer to rider strength or fitness. Instead, they correspond to route and distance options.

  • A Group // 90 km Gran fondo = The most epic challenge, and one to check off the bucket list!
  • B Group // 70 km Medio fondo =  Find a good pace and push to the finish, or find a group with similar goals and work together to complete the distance.
  • C Group // 50 km Bambino fondo = Great for the first-time fondo rider or for a shorter challenge.

IS THIS A RACE?

No, but some participants may ride it like one. Each fondo is a personal challenge against a set distance and the clock. Ride the distance you want at the pace you want with the support of the Zwift community.

Fondo Group Rides 

 

November Fondo Training

Dates: November 1 - December 1 

The November Fondo Training is the foundation for the Zwift Fondo series, helping build a base for success. Tuesdays in November focus on endurance-based workouts, and Thursdays in November prioritize interval-based workouts. These workouts come straight from the Fondo Training Plan, which is also available on-demand. Combine November Fondo Training together with Fondo Fridays throughout the series and build the fitness to complete the Bambino, Medio, and Gran fondo distances in Zwift and IRL spring fondo events.

 

Fondo Fridays

Dates: December 9 - March 24

Fondo Fridays include a selection of workouts from the Gran Fondo Training Plan, designed to take you from couch to gran fondo distance before the series ends. Fondo Friday weekly workouts are around one hour and occur every three hours, beginning December 9 and concluding on March 24. Workouts are also available on-demand in the workouts training plan folder.
