EVENT DESCRIPTION
ABOUT THIS WORKOUT
The second workout in Zwift's Group Workout Training Plan for our December Fondo events. This workout consists of two rounds of progressively harder - but shorter - intervals in the sub-threshold zones.
Workout consists of a 5min warm-up, two rounds of 4min at 65 percent, 2min easy, 3:30 at 81 percent, 2min easy, 2:30 at 95 percent, 2min easy, and then a 3min cool-down.
ABOUT THE JANUARY zFONDO TRAINING PLAN
Planning on joining the next Zwift Fondo on December 17? We've created a training plan to prepare you for the big day. We will have three workouts a week - two interval workouts tailored towards everyone of about 50min each during the week in multiple time slots and a long ride tailored to each distance of the Fondo - Gran, Medio, and Bambino - on the weekend.
ABOUT GROUP WORKOUTS
Zwifters line up in the starting area just like a normal event and once the event starts, workout mode begins. Everyone stays together regardless of power output. That's right, if you're outputting 100W and another Zwifter is outputting 400W you will stay in exactly the same position relative to each other. Only if you stop pedaling and fall 6 meters behind the group will the rubber-banding stop.
HELPFUL HINT
We highly recommend doing one of the FTP tests as the estimated FTP can be inaccurate and make the difficulty level of the workouts too high for your current fitness level.
