Group Ride

EVENT DESCRIPTION
On October 17th, beginning at 2:10 AM EDT (NYC), several members of BMTR will embark on a 500-kilometer (311 miles) ride on Zwift to raise vital funds and awareness in the fight against breast cancer. They'll be cycling for approximately 14 hours! This is the fourth of four BMTR events held at two-hour intervals, and we invite you to join us in cheering them on!

For today's special BMTR Cares Fundo, there will be a Yellow Beacon Ride Leader who will maintain a C-category pace, averaging between 2.4 and 2.8 w/kg. However, feel free to create your own groups and ride at your own speed.

For our fundraising efforts, we’re proud to support the National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF), a dedicated non-profit organization that has been making a difference for many years. Their mission is to "provide help and inspire hope to those affected by breast cancer through early detection, education, and support services."

------------------------------

The BMTR Fundo is a personal challenge against the distance and/or the clock. Some participants will ride the event like a race, and others will ride it more casually, with their primary goal being to complete the distance.

Ultimately, it's all about getting on the bike, grouping up with others, and having fun. How fast or hard you choose to ride it, and how far you decide to go, are up to you!

Several hundred Zwifters often participate, and everyone starts together, so there will be many to group up and ride with along the way.

Even though it's not “officially” a race, end-of-event results will be available for those who may be treating it as such.

**Categories/Groups**

UNLIKE OTHER ZWIFT EVENTS, THE A, B, C, AND D GROUPS OF THE BMTR FUNDO DO NOT REFER TO RIDER STRENGTH, ABILITY, OR FITNESS. INSTEAD, THEY CORRESPOND TO DISTANCE. Thus, the average Watts per Kilogram (W/KG) range for each category is set to “AVG 1.0 - 5.0 W/KG,” as each of the four distances will include riders of all abilities.

**Distances**

The BMTR Fundo offers four different distances. These distances may vary from week to week. However, every week, all four distances are on the same route and start at the same time.
