Specialized Zwift Academy Tri Team Kicks Into Gear

ON May 9, 2019 by Craig Taylor

Our eight triathletes descended upon Specialized HQ in Morgan Hill, California to meet for the first time as a team and receive their full pro makeovers. They came from all over the world to chase down their dreams in a big way. They had the chance to train with tri legends, and Zwift Academy Tri Team Mentors, Sarah True and Tim Don, as well as work on their form in the Specialized Win(d) Tunnel. And they also got some of the best gear and support from our partners to help them level up their performance. But will all of this be enough to make the difference?

Watch how all the action unfolded from the Specialized Zwift Academy Tri Team Camp below.

Come along for the kickoff to their Kona journey.

The Specialized Zwift Academy Tri Team met in person for the first time at Specialized Headquarters in Morgan Hill, CA. The team toured the facilities while Team Mentor Sarah True kicked off the Win(d) Tunnel sessions. Follow along for more behind the scenes looks all week long.

The Specialized Zwift Academy Tri team received some new sunnies from Roka before rolling out for a group ride. Then they caught the pros tear up roads on Stage 3 of the Amgen Tour of California. Afterwards the team headed back to HQ the afterparty and an exclusive look at the Specialized R&D (sorry can’t show those pictures it’s a secret).

Day 3 brought on new kits, new wetsuits and kicked off the Win Tunnel sessions! The Specialized Zwift Academy Tri Team tested out their new Roka Race Kits and Retul fits in the Win(d) Tunnel because aero is everything!

Pencils down, the tests are over! The Specialized Zwift Academy Tri Team finished up their Retül fits and Win Tunnel testing on Day 4 of camp. Of course we had to test how aero the team itself is!  The group received insider nutrition tips from SiS plus hit the pool and the gym between sessions. Check back tomorrow for a glimpse at their open water swim and long ride through the Northern California mountains.

After a couple of days testing in Morgan Hill, The Specialized Zwift Academy Tri Team took theory to practice. Team Mentors, Tim Don and Sarah True, guided the team through a swim, bike and run in Santa Cruz.

We’ve crossed the finish line 🏁 The Specialized Zwift Academy Tri Team closed out camp with a race around the new Fuego Flats course 🔥. Shoutout to all of our partners at Specialized, Roka, Wahoo and SiS for making this an unforgettable week! Stay tuned for updates on the Team’s road to Kona.
