DESCRIPTION DE L'ÉVÉNEMENT
Welcome to the second of four stages of the Team Ulster Zwifter’s Tour of the North Easter series. Join us on an 8km Time Trial over the Bologna course. Register via the Zwift Companion App to get your exact start time.
All four stages will be completed over three consecutive days during the Easter weekend Sat 3rd April to Monday 5th April 2021.
TUZ have taken on the challenge of running this year's cancelled Tour of The North International Cycle Race 2021 on the Zwift platform with full endorsement from the Tour of the North (TON) committee.
This annual International road race has been running for over 50 year's every Easter on roads around Northern Ireland.
Former winners include the former world number 1 Sean Kelly (1976) and more recently the 2013 World Scratch Track race champion Martyn Irvine from Newtownards who won the 2009 race. TUZ’s own Thomas Evans is also a former winner and he along with the commentary team will be streaming the full event live on our TUZ YouTube channel.
The event will run as close to the outdoor event as possible over 3 consecutive days involving 4 stages including a Time Trial on day one and an epic final stage.
Each stage will include the four standard Zwift categories: Cat A, B, C & D and a dedicated ladies category Cat E.
Individual and team stage results will be published on Zwiftpower directly after the race.
All category times will be combined into a single General Classification (GC) E Cat and published on the dedicated Zwiftpower League @ https://www.zwiftpower.com/league.php?id=685Opens a new window

Additional Information about Zwift Time Trials:
Zwift Time Trial mode for Events offers up a unique take on a classic race format. Time Trials may be configured to start in a more classic "one at a time" approach or in a unique (semi-) mass-start format. Unlike previous events with a field limit - which was applied based on people entering the event, for Time Trials, an event is full once the maximum number of potential participants sign up.
Sign-up is best done through the Zwift Companion (ZC) app, this will enable you to see your assigned start time. You can sign up via url, but only ZC is configured to actually display your own specific start time. Your start time may be as much as 30 min after the start of the Event itself, so use ZC to sign up for the best experience.
Results for time trials are pending until all riders have finished. You'll see other riders populate the results screen as they finish and your placing will be updated accordingly.
All riders will start one at a time. Riders in the same row are staggered by 1 second from left-to-right in the paddock. Each subsequent row is then staggered by a fixed amount. For this event, the stagger between rows is 15 seconds. Enough time to give you someone up the road to chase but not so crowded that you can't focus on racing the clock
The TT Hud
Time Trials offer a unique HUD (Heads Up Display) that emphasizes that this is a race against the clock. In Bologna you will see eight intermediate timing checkpoints, one every kilometre, each one breaking up the course at a distinct landmark. A centre clock timing you to 100ths of a second will keep you on task and you can use the minimap to track your progress.
All four stages will be completed over three consecutive days during the Easter weekend Sat 3rd April to Monday 5th April 2021.
