DESCRIPTION DE L'ÉVÉNEMENT
This season BMTR Faster Masters has expanded its categories to include A, B, and C Teams.
On the first Thursday of each month, Team C will depart the starting pen first, followed by Team B 4 minutes later. Teams B and C will ride mainly flat courses. We will feature a separate hilly course for Team A. Freebirds (flyers) are welcome to join Team A. Fly if you wish until the peloton decides it’s hammer time. Caution, only join Team A on the first Thursday if you are a strong climber.
On the second and fourth Thursday of each month, we will have our classic A/B/C Team Pursuit event in which Team C will start first, followed by Team B, with Team A departing last. The goal is for Teams A and B to pace their respective team as a peloton trying to catch Team C before the ride ends. A default 4-minute starting time gap between teams may be adjusted during the season to keep the finish close.
On the third and fifth Thursday (if there is one) of each month we will have the three teams riding the same course with some mild rollers. Teams B and C will have ride leaders. Team A will be a Fundo Freebird (flyer) group with no ride leader.
The pace efforts are as follows: Team C will ride at 2.5 to 3.1 w/kg; Team B’s pace effort is 3.2 to 4.0 w/kg; and Team A’s pace effort is 4.1 to 5.0 w/kg.
Team A will be self-regulated on all, except special feature events, meaning no ride leader (Yellow Beacon).
All rides offer a 30-minute Late Join period. During this time dropped riders may use the Late Join feature to rejoin at the yellow beacon position. If you find the team you selected to ride with is too fast or too slow you may switch teams during the first 30-minutes using the Late Join option.
The goal of the team challenge is to maintain the advertised pace and keep the team together. No one attends a team ride to ride alone. Please select the correct team that suits your skill set.
We do not sweep in the first 30 minutes of a ride. Please use Late Join during this time if you are dropped for any reason. We usually do not have designated sweepers (Red Beacon). If you get dropped after 30 minutes and wish to rejoin your team please message HELP(X); X = the number of seconds you are off the back, e.g., HELP5. If you ask for help quickly, one or more strong riders may come to your rescue.
