DESCRIPTION DE L'ÉVÉNEMENT
The Team Africa Rising Zwift Ride showcases our efforts in African cycling development. On this ride, you may be joined by some of our African cyclists from around the continent including Benin, Sierra Leone, Rwanda, DRC (Congo), and Uganda. Enjoy all the different African flags! You may even ride with former Rwandan Olympian (2012/2016) and World Tour cyclist (Team DiData), Adrien Niyonshuti.
We use this ride as a training and recovery ride for our African cyclists. We have Benin coaches who use this ride to train new Benin cyclists on how to shift, stay with the peloton and establish a consistent pedal stroke. So, you’ll be part of history during this ride! This event is run by members of Team Africa Rising, Adrien Niyonshuti, and all the up-and-coming coaches and cyclists of Benin and other countries to help them better learn to engage with fans and other riders. Sometimes we’ll have guest leads to talk to you about our work with Team Africa Rising.
The ride will remain a D+/C- ride. The team will adhere to the 1.5 - 2.0 w/kg range. The lead will ride at the top end, the sweep will ride at the lower end and will help riders if they want to make it back to the pack.
On this ride, we encourage chatting as it teaches the riders English. YOU will be a part of helping these young men and women build and lead their own rides. How cool is that?
