DESCRIPCIÓN DEL EVENTO
ANDRÉ GREIPEL & FRIENDS FIGHT ALS
In 2017, pro cyclist André Greipel's mother passed away after a long fight with ALS (otherwise known as Lou Gehrig's Disease), after her initial diagnosis in 2013. ALS is a brain disease that impacts nerve cells, deteriorating muscle control and eventually paralyzing patients. Many die within five years after diagnosis.
Join us in support of André and his mission. With this ride on February 10th, we're raising awareness and money to accelerate the pace of ALS research. The donations go entirely to ALS researcher Professor Prudlo, currently conducting research at the DZNE, the German Center for Neurodegenerative Diseases
Ride with Greipel as we raise funds for ALS research.
IS THIS A RACE?
This is a group workout for a cause worth riding for, not a race. Zwifters line up in the starting area just like a normal event and once it starts, workout mode begins.
In this event, everyone stays together regardless of power output. That's right, if you're putting out 100W and another Zwifter's at 400W, you'll stay in exactly the same position relative to each other. A word of caution though: if you stop pedaling and fall six meters behind the group, the rubber-banding will stop, so do your best to keep pace.
UNLOCK THE ALS KIT
Zwifters who complete the ride will unlock the in-game "Fight ALS" kit. Wear it with pride.
