DESCRIPCIÓN DEL EVENTO
Welcome to the RO4H Rookie Group Ride. This led group ride is your opportunity to learn some of the fundamentals of Zwift group riding in a friendly, collegial, and non-judgmental atmosphere. The ultimate goal of this ride is to introduce some of the basics of group riding so you can learn how to find, ride with, and stay within the ride leaders peloton – the blob. Weekly we'll cover variable topics based on your questions with a smattering of Zwift lore interjected. We all can learn from each other so all Zwifters, from experienced to novices, are welcome to ride along, share their knowledge, and build our Zwift community.
We’ll strive to have an overall average pace of 15-16 mph/24-26 kph travelling along mostly flat, mostly paved surfaced routes and stay under 2 w/kg on inclines. This pace is about 1.0-1.3 w/kg for me but your w/kg will be different. We understand that any pace will be a great effort for some while being effortless for others so we’re going to trend toward slower than faster to maintain group cohesion. This ride will have sweepers who will help dropped riders bridge back, create a second pace group (if necessary), and add their wisdom into the conversations.
If you are timid about joining a group ride, if when you hear someone say, “The Blob”, you think of a classic sci-fi movie, or if you don’t know the difference between getting dropped or getting drops, then you are in the right place. So go ahead and click that orange square with the white plus sign to join the ride. Go on, don’t be shy, you'll be glad you did!
The concurrent use of the Zwift Companion (ZC) mobile app (https://www.zwift.com/companionOpens a new window) is recommended. The ZC helps with communication, help you navigate, gives access to chat messages longer, eliminates overlap from other chat messages, lets one scroll back and forth through chat messages, and much more.
