DESCRIPCIÓN DEL EVENTO
Centuries? Those are for omnivores! The Vegan Cyclist levels up: riding a century and another mile. He — real name, Tyler Pearce — calls this ride the “100+1”.
“This is a non-stop* four hours of pedaling, and it SUCKS while you are doing it, but when it's done, you feel so good. It's about pushing the limits of what you think is possible,” says Tyler.
You read that right: a four-hour century. Sure, it will be challenging, but a 25 mph average for four hours should be do-able for many Zwifters. Especially because he’s lapping the 10.5 mile Tick Tock route that includes only 146’ of climbing per lap. Even if you lose the group, you can sit up and hop back on when they come through again.
The Vegan Cyclist is like a lot of us in the Zwift community: just a person who loves bikes, loves riding, and really, really, really loves getting faster.
And because the community asked for it, there are now two shorter options.
Groups
Giddy up! This is a long ride: 101 miles. Fill up those bottles and find a nice wheel to sit on before you take some pulls.
The B group ride is shorter, but still a meaty significant ride: 60 miles. Just short of a metric century, make sure you have enough water and food.
Just have an hour so? The C group is for you. Although it’s a shorter ride, it’s spicy. Get ready to ride.
All groups start at the same time.
Is this race?
No. But it’s not a casual pedal in the park either. Try to hang with the group for the whole ride. If you get spit out the back, sit up and wait for the group to come through again. Or, bang a U-Turn and bang another before they come through again.
There will be a short break at mile 50 for A group. This is an excellent time to stretch your legs, run to the bathroom, or refill water bottles.
*Originally, there wasn't going to be a break. We begged him for a one, and he added it.
We’ll kit out participants in “Vegan Cyclist” jerseys and shorts. Complete any of the rides and you’ll receive the in-game jersey within a week.
