May is Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage Month in the United States. AAPI Heritage Month offers Zwifters an opportunity to honor this vast and diverse community. This is especially salient this year because recent events have heightened awareness around the painful history and current challenges faced by the AAPI community.
Our goal during this time is to send a resounding message to our AAPI employees and Zwifters that we embrace them, not just in May but throughout the year.
Join us for a series of events and initiatives that center on conversations around the AAPI experience.
Ride with our CEO, Eric Min
Join us on Saturday, May 8th for our marquee event — a ride through Watopia led by our CEO, Eric Min. Eric and the leadership team are fearlessly leading our organization in our quest towards “One Zwift For All”.
Eric is excited to join Watopians from all over the globe in celebration of the AAPI community. Born in Seoul, South Korea, Eric’s family emigrated to the USA when he was a boy. Cycling and fitness have always been a part of Eric’s DNA and so he soon fell in love with the New York cycling scene, reaching the USA Olympic training camp as a junior. Though Eric now lives in the U.K., he still considers himself a New Yorker.
Ride and Run Events
Every Thursday during the month of May, be on the lookout for events celebrating the AAPI community, including more rides and runs led by multicultural Zwift employees!
Investing in Local Structural Change
Zwift is committed to impacting our local community. In accordance with this, Zwift will donate $25,000 to the LA chapter of Asian Americans Advancing Justice (AAAJ). They have been a leading force in the fight to stop Asian hate and are a national organization fighting for civil rights for Asian Americans. We plan on partnering with the AAAJ as we continue our journey towards becoming true allies for the AAPI community.
Internal Initiatives
Zwift is committed to fostering a culture of inclusion internally and on staff. In light of this, alongside our in-game activations, Zwift will also host a slate of internal events to observe AAPI heritage month. We will partner with leaders in the community and leaders on our team to elevate important and necessary conversations around AAPI issues.

Conversation with Jerry Won
In our effort to create spaces that allow us to learn more about ourselves by learning about others, we will host a speaking event with Jerry Won for Zwift employees. Jerry Won is a storyteller, brand builder, and community leader. He is the Founder & CEO of Just Like Media, an Asian American storytelling company whose podcast brands include Dear Asian Americans, MBAsians, The Janchi Show, and Asian Podcast Network. He is also a keynote speaker and workshop facilitator. He will join us at Zwift to discuss the current Stop Asian Hate movement, the origins of anti-Asian violence, and the Asian American experience in the workplace. Jerry will educate employees on the ongoing violence against Asians and the Asian American experience in the workplace.
At Zwift, we will not ignore the surge in anti-Asian violence that we have witnessed over the last year, and previous months, specifically. AAPI Heritage Month is an opportunity to remind ourselves that education, awareness, and social action are some of the most potent tools we can arm ourselves with as we seek to make change in this world. By celebrating AAPI Heritage Month, we continue to acknowledge and welcome the diverse experiences that make our community so vibrant and strong!
