DESCRIPTION DE L'ÉVÉNEMENT
**Join Us for a Fun and Supportive Group Ride!**
We invite you to participate in a fun, supportive, and epic group ride. Feel free to join us for as little or as much of the ride as you like; everyone is welcome!
Our experienced, friendly, and engaging Ride Leaders will guide you through the experience, ensuring a cohesive group ride with lots of entertaining banter and interesting conversations.
Please note that while there is no "A" Category Group, we encourage "A Cats" to join the B Category Group as you will then have the option of riding with the B Group "Freebirds," who set a faster, more spirited pace than the Beacon Group. (BMTR does not use the “Fence”).
The C and D Groups will make one brief stop at approximately 62 miles (100 km), while the B Group will not stop along the way. All three category groups can use the "Coffee Break" option, allowing a 3-minute break every 30 minutes of riding time while you are auto-paced with the group.
This event is designed as a longer endurance ride, lasting 4-5 hours. The average watts per kilogram (w/kg) pace for each group is calculated to keep most riders within their "Zone 2 Endurance / low Zone 3 Tempo" ranges, provided that each rider selects the correct category based on their Functional Threshold Power (FTP) or the calculations/assignments from Zwift.
Since we will primarily use flatter routes* for this event, smaller riders may find themselves at the higher end of their respective category average range, larger riders may fall toward the lower part of that range.
*For our purposes, "flatter routes" are defined as having less than 3,100 feet (945 meters) of climbing per 100 miles (161 km).*
