Group Ride

イベント概要
DESCRIPTION

In 2013 André Greipel’s mother was diagnosed with the brain disease ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease). ALS is short for amyotrophic lateral sclerosis and it impacts nerve cells in the brain and the spinal cord. Eventually, patients cannot control their muscles and they become paralyzed. Most patients will die within five years after diagnosis.

Through this ride, we raise money to accelerate the pace of ALS research. At the moment we support the financing of a research study for the DZNE e.V. (German Center for Neurodegenerative Diseases). The donations that are generated through this campaign go entirely to the ALS research of Prof. Prudlo. He is doing research at the DZNE and doctor at the Rostocks University’s medical centre.

Join Marcel Kittel, Marcus Burghardt, Thomas De Gendt, Tomasz Marczyński, Marcel “Sibi” Sieberg, and of course, André, as we seek to ride & raise funds for ALS research.

RIDE INFO

Course: Watopia Road to Ruins
Length: 60 min
Group Workout Format: Zwifters line up in the starting area just like a normal event and once the event starts, workout mode begins. Everyone stays together regardless of power output. That's right, if you're outputting 100W and another Zwifter is outputting 400W you will stay in exactly the same position relative to each other. Only if you stop pedaling and fall 6 meters behind the group will the rubber-banding stop. For this event, the watts will increase slightly every 15 minutes. Hang on as long as you can!
