イベント概要
Hello and welcome to the RO4H Rookie Group Ride! This event is an excellent opportunity for all Zwifters, regardless of their experience, to learn the fundamentals and nuances of group riding in a supportive, casual-paced, and non-judgmental environment. We understand that group riding can be challenging for beginners, so we are here to help you get started on the right pedal—err, foot. We encourage you to ask questions and share your knowledge with fellow Zwifters, as we all have something to learn from each other.
This event is a teaching ride, not a race or fast-paced training ride. The aim is to maintain an average pace of 16–19 mph / 26–30 kph in the leader's peloton. Although we will ride primarily flat routes, there may be rolling terrain, which causes variations in the target pace. We recognize that the pace may be a significant effort for some riders while being easy for others. If you're unsure about what pace you can ride at, don't worry about keeping up with the main peloton; we have sweepers who can help you catch up or ride at your own pace. Our sweepers are experienced in Zwift and will happily share their years of knowledge during conversations.
If you are new to group riding, don't worry. You're not alone. There are plenty of beginners out there, just like you. Whether you're hesitant to join a group ride or unfamiliar with cycling jargon, such as "getting dropped" or "getting Drops," don't feel intimidated. No one will judge you, so go ahead and click that orange square with the white plus sign to join the ride. You'll be glad you did!
Rookie Ride Tip #1: We highly recommend downloading and using the Zwift Companion mobile app when you are Zwifting. It's a great tool that can help with communication, navigation, ride-ons, controlling views, overall situational awareness, etc. You can download it at https://www.zwift.com/companionOpens a new window.
