Zwift National Championship Rules

All Zwifters are welcome to join the National Championships.

In order to be eligible to be crowned the  Zwift National Champion, you must abide by the following rules and have:

VALID NATIONAL CYCLING FEDERATION MEMBERSHIP

Just like in real life, to be a National Champion, you must be a member of your country’s National Cycling Federation.

We also require a race license for the potential winner of the Zwift National Champs to prove that your country and gender align with the physical federation in which you represent. This license can be from another federation as long as it has the UCI prefix of your home country. (British Cycling and Dutch Cycling only require federation membership)

A Race License is not needed to enter the race and you will still be displayed in the final results to see where you stack up. But if you win without a race license, you will not be crowned the National Champion. (British Cycling and Dutch Cycling only require federation membership)

By having membership to your National Cycling Federation, you are bound by the terms and conditions and the regulations of the Federation including, but without limitation, the Code of Conduct, Anti Doping Policy and any other relevant policy.

All riders are subject to Zwift Power’s standard for automatic disqualification based on Critical Power. These riders may be reinstated subsequent to verification. Please see ZwiftPower.com for more information on Critical Power limits of varying durations for male and female riders.

CORRECT EQUIPMENT

Riders are required to wear a functioning heart rate monitor which must provide reliable heart rate data for the majority of the race.

Must use either a power meter or smart trainer. zPower riders are not eligible.

If the power numbers provided by these devices during the race are above Zwift Powers critical power rule, you will be investigated to prove they match real-world performances.

No TT Bikes may be ridden during the race.

Power Ups are allowed at all times.

*zPower Disclaimer: While we’re confident in its accuracy if your setup matches our standards, zPower is a calculated estimate for progress benchmarks, not absolute power values. Due to the number of variables – including manufacturer design inconsistencies in equipment – it’s likely that the power numbers you see will differ from what we calculated zPower with, and your wattage will be capped at 1200w. zPower is not recognized as a reliable source for racing because of these variables. If you want exact, accurate numbers, consider a power meter or smart trainer instead.

NATIONAL CYCLING FEDERATION RACE REQUIREMENTS

Just like in real life, to be a National Champion, you must be associated with the National Cycling Federation of your home country or country of residence in which you are able to represent. Either way, you can only represent 1 country.

We require this race license for the potential winner of the Zwift National Champs to prove that their country and gender align with the physical federation in which they represent. (British Cycling and Dutch Cycling only require federation membership)

A Race License is not needed to enter the race and you will still be displayed in the final results to see where you stack up in your race. But if you win without a race license, you will not be crowned the National Champion.
