What a week it has been! The 2019 UCI Road World Championships brought the rainbow bands, infectious fans and the pros to the Zwift Draft House. Matt Stephens brings you all of the action.
It’s a wrap on world’s! While the Yorkshire weather took a turn for worst, the Zwift Draft House watch party heated up. It was a wild finish to the 2019 UCI Road World Championship racing with Mads Pedersen taking the rainbow bands.
On Saturday, the UCI Women’s Elite Road Race pressed on outside during the day and it was the final night of racing inside the Zwift Draft House! The Women’s Pro-Am Open had several heavy hitters including 2017 Zwift Academy Winner Tanja Erath and the 2019 UCI Women’s Junior Champion, Megan Jastrab go head-to-head. Jastrab showed why she earned the rainbow bands with a dominant performance on Zwift. The U23 Men’s race closed out the night with an explosive sprint to the finish! Andreas Stokbro snatched the win at the line.
World Championship weekend has finally arrived and the racing action is heating up! The Zwift Men’s Juniors, including newly crowned UCI Men’s Junior Road Race Champ, Quinn Simmons, threw it down in the Draft House. New Zealand’s Finn Fisher-Black snatched the W in a sprint to the finish. The UCI Women’s Junior and Men’s U23 racers took to the road today but they’ll go head-t0-head in the Draft House tomorrow night!
It was a landmark day at the Draft House where the first-ever UCI Cycling Esports World Championships on Zwift in 2020 was announced. The action didn’t stop there! Geraint Thomas and Luke Rowe dropped by to record their podcast, Watts Occurring, in front of a live Zwift audience.
Newly crowned 2019 Elite Women’s Individual Time Trial Champion, Chloé Dygert, stopped by the Draft House to chat with the Zwift crew. The Elite Men took their turn in the Individual Time Trial on the streets of Yorkshire. Later that night, the Le Col x Zwift Ex-Pro Legends Race brought the power…. and a flat cap?!

Time Trial Tuesday was in full effect at the Worlds! The U23 men braved the brunt of the Yorkshire weather while Zwift racer and former Junior World Champion, Chloé Dygert, became this year’s Elite Women’s Time Trial Champion. The hometown heroes, such as Connor Swift & Scott Thwaites threw it down in the Zwift Draft House in the Yorkshire Legends Race powered by OTE.

Pencils down and saddle up! The Sigma Sports ride outs leave the Zwift Draft House daily and explore the Yorkshire countryside. The cycling stars of tomorrow zipped through Harrogate in the Juniors Time Trial events. The GCN Pub Quiz teams had to be just as speedy with their trivia knowledge to enter the hill climb challenge in the final round.
Take a peek into the Zwift Draft House a the 2019 UCI World Road Championships Yorkshire. While the first ever Team Time Trial Mixed Relay went down outside, Zwifters inside the Draft House enjoyed taking in the racing action and a brew.
