EVENT DESCRIPTION
The Team Africa Rising/Good Dirt Ride you know and love is evolving to bring African leaders to the event. One of these leaders is Adrien Niyonsuti, who founded the Adrien Niyonshuti Cycling Academy (ANCA), the leading development team in Rwanda. He's now taking that experience and success to the Benin National Cycling Team as its new National Coach. Adrien raced XCO MTB in the 2012 Olympics and then the Road Cycling Event in the 2016 Olympics. He also raced his entire career with the World Tour Team Qhubeka/Dimension Data.
This event is being run by members of Team Africa Rising, Adrien Niyonshuti, and all the up-and-coming coaches and cyclists of Benin to help them better learn to engage with fans and other riders. The ride will remain a D+/C- ride. The team will adhere to the 1.5 - 2.0 w/kg range. The lead will ride at the top end, the sweep will ride at the lower end, and will help riders if they want to make it back to the pack.
On this ride, we encourage chatting as it teaches the riders English. YOU will be a part of helping these young men and women build and lead their own rides. How cool is that?
