Warm-up your aerobic engine for harder training sessions to come. This workout is 30 minutes of “work,” with hard riding below your functional threshold power (FTP) punctuated by 1-minute bursts above your FTP. These bursts might hurt, so be mentally prepared. It’s the perfect session to start your ZA and learn about your fitness.
